Vintage Navajo Native American Sterling Silver Turquoise Cornrow Inlay Ring
This listing is for a vintage handcrafted Navajo ring, made of sterling silver, turquoise, and coral. This Navajo ring is a great example of raised cornrow inlay work. The ring is made with a wide shank of heavy gauge silver that comes to a point on one side. The front of the band is filled with long thin stone inlays that sit raised over the shank. The stones follow the shape of the band and also come to point at the center. Of the 11 inlays used, 10 are turquoise with a bright blue green color hue with subtle greenish cloud-like matrixes, while the 1 remaining inlay is a red coral that neighbors the longest center inlay. All 11 stones are in perfect condition with no cracks.
The inner band is stamped with the Artists signature and a sterling stamp. The band is in perfect round wearable shape, with no give.... A very well made solid piece. This ring is waiting to be cherished and enjoyed for now.... And of course handed down to loved ones in the future.
A lovely addition to any collection of fine Native American jewelry.... Or the perfect piece to start one! Band measures - 1/2 wide at front center, and tapers down at each side to 5/16.
Middle largest inlay measures - 5/16 Long by just under 1/8 wide. Total area of inlay portion measures - 2-1/8 long with each end being 3/16 wide, the cornrows sit raised on top of the ring face at 1/8 high. Signed by Artist - YES, signed by Navajo Artist, C/Q? Stamped Sterling - YES, tested and verified. Condition - Preowned, in excellent vintage condition with original stone inlays and naturally aged patina, ready to wear or display.
