This listing features a vintage Navajo handcrafted necklace made from sterling silver and turquoise. If your looking for an authentic vintage Navajo bib necklace that can be worn daily.... This piece has it all! Amazing turquoise, top-notch craftsmanship, and the length and size is perfect for daily wear. It will make a big statement without being overly BIG and weighing you down.
This vintage piece was expertly handcrafted by a highly skilled Navajo silversmith. It dates back to the Native American jewelry boom during the later mid century and is an excellent example of authentic Native American jewelry. A total of 99 high polished stones rest over four separate beds of heavy gauge silver that make up the necklace. The stones feature bold color hues of deep caribbean blue along with subtle matrixes running through just a few.
Each stone rests securely in tall hand etched bezels over dark oxidized silver. The darkened silver adds great dimension and helps to create a beautiful contrast with the bright stones. The four beds of silver, which make up the necklace, are held together with wide flattened loops of silver which have soldered ends. Silver droplets border the outer edges of the entire necklace, resting at each end of every petite point stone. Classic twisted rope is also apparent throughout the entire piece.
The chain is completely handmade with each link being soldered shut. It carries a classic hook and eye clasp and is in excellent working order. Its a very solid and well made piece from beginning to end. This item has not been cleaned or polished and has been left in its original state. This work of Art is a fine example of vintage Native American culture, one that will last for years and be handed down for generations. Be the new owner of this stunning piece, that isnt just a necklace but also a tangible asset that will appreciate over the years....Cherish and enjoy for now....
